Jack {3 months}

Jack, you have been with us a whole 3 months. 3 months. You are most definitely growing. I used to be able to hold you with one arm with no problem at all, but it's becoming more of a challenge as you chunk up.
We are so thankful you are getting bigger. Shortly after you turned 2 months we went to your well child checkup and you hadn't gained much weight. You were in the 50% for height but only 10% for weight (10.4lbs). Long story short, after a couple of meetings with the lactation consultant and breastfeeding for 3 solid months, you now take formula 100% of the time and are doing so much better and gaining weight! We gave it a go, did the best we could, and I'm glad that I was able to do it as long as I could.
You don't have another appointment with the doctor until the end of October but I weighed you on the scale at home and you weigh 13lbs. Your face, arms, and legs are also filling out more. You are still in size 1 diapers and 0-3 month, 3 month, and a few 3-6 months clothes but those are still a little too big.

This month your smiles grew even bigger! You smile all.the.time. You LOVE when people look at and talk to you. You also became ticklish on your neck, thighs, and under your arms. When I tickle you, you let out the biggest laugh. It is SO cute!
You also love to suck on your fingers and hands and chew on the end of the lovey (yes, I'm careful and make sure you don't suffocate and choke). With the sucking comes lots of drooling and I think you will probably get teeth early just like your brother. His bottom two teeth came in around 4 months. One thing you still won't suck on...the pacifier. After trying almost every brand out there I've given up. When you get upset you would rather look around and be bounced on my lap then take a paci.
Since exclusively formula feeding, you take around 5-6 oz ounces at a time every 3-4 hours during the day. One thing that has improved drastically since starting formula is your sleeping! You go to bed around 6:45-7:15pm and sleep until 3 or 4, eat 6 oz, and then sleep again until 7-7:30. This past week you've slept from 7 until 5 or 5:30, eaten, and then slept again until 7:30 or 8:00. This is a huge improvement since right before switching to formula you had been waking up every 2-3 hours. Poor little guy, you must have been hungry! You usually take one long morning nap (3 hours) and then a little cat nap in the afternoon (1 hr). You still sleep in your sleep sack in your swing, but the swing is now in your own room! 1 step closer to the crib:)
You still love bath time, but don't enjoy the getting out or drying off. You don't get too upset when you have a wet or poppy diaper. You LOVE to be held facing outwards and you do not like to be cradled unless you are eating or going to sleep. You want to be able to look at everything going on in the world around you!
Besides laughing, smiling, and coo-ing, you are also a master at rolling over. You rolled over for the first time the week before I had to go back to work. I'm so glad I didn't miss that! Now any time we put you on your tummy for tummy time you roll over to your back. We flip you back over and over you roll. I think you're just trying to get out of tummy time. Lazy. You are also trying really hard to roll from your back to your front and it won't be long now.
Other big news...I spent my first night away from you. I don't think you even cared since Memaw and Pampaw spoiled you so much. I also went back to work this month. I  miss you like crazy, but it's so great to see your face at the end of the work day. You greet me with HUGE smiles and you talk and tell me all about your day. Or at least that's what I think your telling me. You could be cursing me your leaving you.
You've gone lots of places this month including a farm, safety day, out to lunches and dinners, and you even hosted your first engagement party at the house. Although you were quite the party pooper and went to bed early.
You are so loved little one.
