3 Easy Father's Day Crafts

With Father's Day right around the corner, here are 3 quick and easy handmade crafts to gift your baby daddy. Although it can get messy, slapping some paint on your little one's hand or foot is the best keepsake for any parent. And I've found that keeping a handful of wipes right next to me makes clean up so much easier. Doing the actual prints took about 10-15 minutes and then putting on the finishing touches once everything was dry another 10-15 minutes.

Are you planning on making some homemade gifts? What's your favorite?

Berry Picking on the Farm

If I could live on a farm it would be this one. Not only was there a big beautiful farm house and lots of furry farm animals running around, but there was also rows and rows of berries just waiting to be picked.
By the looks of their baskets I'll let you guess which one ate more than he picked.

Weekend in St. Louis

At the end of April we headed to St. Louis for a long weekend and to participate in a Bubble Run. Unfortunately the day of the run was cold, windy, and rainy and although they still had the race, we opted out and filled our time with other things around the city.

Although we've been to St. Louis tons of times, there's always something new to do with each visit. J had to work so my parents, sister and her family packed up and headed off Friday morning with our first stop at the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company. I came across this place on Trip Advisor and while the tour isn't very long, it's perfect for kids or anyone who wants just a quick glance at how all that candy is made and bonus, it's free.

Rows and rows of caramel. Just leave me here.

Sampling the candy was the kids' and mine favorite part.

After grabbing some different candies to take home, it was time for lunch at The Shaved Duck which has been featured on the food network and can have quite a long wait for dinner so I suggest going at lunch or getting there early.  And you have to try their famous smothered fries. Gimme all the cheeesssseee.

After rolling ourselves out of the restaurant we checked into our hotel, let the kids burn off some energy at the pool and then made our way to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate my dad's birthday.

Since the race was a no-go on Saturday morning we headed over to the Galleria after saying goodbye to my sister and her family who headed back home.

At Nordstrom I tried on the famous Blush tunic and ended up purchasing this one although now that I've tried it on again at home I don't love it. Waaa.

We spent the rest of the day doing a little more shopping, swimming, and then stuffing our faces with Mexican at Cantina Laredo. I tried their steak tacos for the first time and they were by far the best steak tacos I've ever had. I also got the pomegranate margarita which never disappoints.

Sunday morning called for Krispy Kreme donuts in pajamas, them not me, and checking out of our hotel.

In no rush to get home, we stocked up on some favorites at Trader Joes before checking out Fitz's and watching them bottle their famous sodas.

Make sure to get a table next to the bottling window for the best view of how it all works.

And don't forget to try one of their floats. There is so many to choose from and definitely some interesting ones. The boys tried this grape float with strawberry ice cream topped with gummy bears.

After the sugar coma we headed home and the boys were so excited to see their daddy. I was excited to eat a cookie butter cookie alone in the bathroom in silence.

Weekend Recap

Another great weekend is in the books. I'm on a mission to make this Summer full of fun and memories and that's just what we're doing.

We kicked off the weekend with a trip to a farm to pick strawberries and blueberries. Ben was on the hunt for the perfect strawberries and all Jack really cared about was eating them. I'll do a full post later this week because fresh fruit makes for the most perfect pictures.

After berry picking we dined al fresco at our favorite brewery.

After we all slept in until almost 8:30 (what!) we hit up the farmers market and then Target for our weekly grocery run.

Saturday afternoon we went to J's aunt's house for a birthday party where Jack tried out the diving board for the first time and Ben worked on his diving skills.

The sign of a good party.

After the kids passed out J and I watched The Martian since I fell asleep the first time we watched it in Chicago. Matt Damon was perfect and it was nice to see the parts I missed before when I was in a deep dish pizza coma.

Sunday was spent doing some much needed cleaning and laundry before heading to the pool with my gal Alissa and the boys while J got some work done for a client.

We ordered pizza for dinner, Ben changed into his "cool kid" clothes, and after the kids went to bed I painted my nails while watching The Spy. Despite horrible reviews, I thought it was actually pretty good.

Have a great Monday!!
